Favorite part about being a mom: The unconditional love my children show me.
Least favorite part about being a mom: The guilt. Oh, the guilt!
Famous for: Calling home during commercial breaks to give my husband dinner instructions. Talk about multi-tasking!
re: Thank God For Sesame Street!

Sesame Street has saved many a day in our home too! I have 2 boys only 15 months apart and Elmo has become a beloved member of our family. And how did we ever live without DVR. Between Sesame Street and Calliou we always have the ammunition to stop a melt-down or soothe a crying sweetie.

It seems like such a happy place to work.

My daughter still occasionally watches, and I have to admit that some of their material still cracks me up. Bert and Ernie are classic!

My little Brownie will bring home her cookie sale information today. Their meeting was delayed Friday because of the anticipated bad weather. And, darn it, I work out of a home office so I can only schlep the cookies to myself. I guess I better get out her warm gloves and hat. Who can say "no" to a kid who braves this weather?

Well, at seven, my son wouldn't eat my sophisticated holiday food either, but at 14 - he loves it! This year he raved about my Emeril Green Bean Casserole (no canned soup in this dish!), and the truffled mashed potatoes. It is very gratifying but I will not soon forget the days when he only wanted chicken fingers and fries! :) By the way - any chance you can send me that brussel sprout recipe?

My husband, a former high school offensive lineman, couldn't wait for the day when our son would watch and enjoy football with him. And the pride he had when our son went out for freshman football was out of this world. Flash forward to present day and our son would rather listen to and play music and our daughter is the one that really enjoys watching football. (AND she knows a LOT about it too!) Funny how parents often get something completely different than they wish for!

It's an interesting question - which job is more stressful? As somebody who used to do both (because of proximity to my job), I think they both have their plusses and minuses. It is hard to drop them off and get away without a baby meltdown. On the other hand, I have many, many memories of kids that had perfectly great days who fell apart upon my arrival at the child care center. (I was told that this was a common reaction. They held it together all day long and then became super emotional the minute that Mom shows up.) I used to have nightmares about forgetting to pick up my kids from child care or getting there too late. (Of course they wouldn't have locked me out, but it did stress me out.) I think it's ALL super stressful!

I am a full-time working mom who has 3 very small children. Between ripped nylons, applying make-up in the car, and singing alphabet songs on the way to work, it is quite an interestig circus when you have to switch personas at the drop of a hat. Just this morning we decided that we need to put the alarm clock across the room as both my husband and I overslept!

I love both of my worlds and sometimes but sometimes it hard to see the forest through the trees. I am working becuase it provides me satisfaction, I am working so that I can pay for quality educaiton for my kids in the future, I am working to show them that moms and dads can have a satisfying life on both ends.

I read your blogs on TMJ4.com and have always thought your perspective on things is great. I wll read more as an assurance that I am a good mom even though I work.
