Hey Ange, I had to chuckle at this one, but I hope this little incident didn't hyper-magnify your neverending list of irrational fears. My mini brain cinema of any-possible-horror-that-could-harm-my-precious-child is constantly terrorizing me, so I have become the epitome of the laughably overprotective parent...and still my Levon has been rushed to the emergency room at least once a year since birth (big sigh). He's a boy; things happen. See how you reacted to Henry's little rubber band bounce? Now think about how you're gonna react the first time he needs to have nine staples slammed in the back of his skull...You'll survive it, and he will, too. But the tremendous guilt and shame that you have completely failed at protecting your child will follow you like a shadow (bad simile) until you walk into the light of perfectly imperfect motherhood (bad metaphor). Anyway, I do think your brother-in-law would prefer to be referred to as "famous racecar driver" or "psuedo-chef extraordinare" or something like that the next time he warrants a mention on your blog:)

Yeah, maybe. I'm glad that I was finally able to check it out. At lease now I know. We went shopping at the new Boelter Superstore that's nearbly, though, so it was still a worthwhile trip. :)

OMG, Angela. I get that sick feeling just reading this that I had when my TFA happened. I think I called my mom and tried to turn myself in as an unworthy mother. Thank God they're now old enough to have hurts I can pass judgment on - like 'well, that's what you get when your fencing your sister,' and 'Let that be a lesson that you shouldn't ride a scooter and try of scoop down a hand to pick up a rock.'
